FOX Sports Detroit announced it would not schedule Detroit Tigers play-by-play announcer Mario Impemba or analyst Rod Allen to appear on telecasts for the remainder of the season after news of an altercation between the two employees surfaced Thursday.

The reported altercation between the veteran broadcasters took place after Tuesday's game against the Chicago White Sox, according to Katie Strang of The Athletic. Tensions had festered throughout the year, Strang reports, but Tuesday was the first time it became physical. On Wednesday, Matt Shepard and Kirk Gibson inexplicably filled in for Impemba and Allen.

According to Detroit's Local 4 news, the disagreement began over a chair in the broadcast booth during the Tigers' 8-3 victory. Following the game, Allen reportedly followed Impemba out of the broadcast booth and choked him from behind.

Allen's agent, Tom Shaer, was quick to dismiss those allegations, calling them "ridiculous" and "blatantly false descriptions."

Impemba, 55, and Allen, 58, had been with the club since 2002 and 2003, respectively.
