Meyer issues 2nd apology amid backlash from initial statement
Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer released a second apology Friday after receiving backlash for his initial statement following his three-game suspension Wednesday.
Meyer admitted his "words and demeanor" Wednesday did not show how seriously he takes "relationship violence" following the conclusion of an investigation into his handling of reported domestic violence involving now-former assistant coach Zach Smith.

"I understand my lack of more action in this situation has raised concerns about this commitment. I once again apologize for this, and I extend my empathy to all women, men, and families who are affected by relationship violence. This has been a real learning experience for me. I fully intend to use my voice more effectively to be a part of the solution," part of Meyer's statement reads.
Meyer also extended an apology to Courtney Smith - Zach Smith's ex-wife - and their children.
The head coach initially met with the media Wednesday after his suspension was announced, claiming he "should've done more." His demeanor was not well-received in the media or by some former college football players.
