Freeman: 'Gutless' for Urena to go after Acuna
In the aftermath of Miami Marlins starter Jose Urena plunking Atlanta Braves phenom Ronald Acuna Jr. with his first pitch Wednesday night, Freddie Freeman, the longest-serving member of the Braves, came to the defense of his teammate.
Freddie Freeman: “It was gutless. I know that wasn’t the Marlins. That was just Jose Urena. I don’t understand it. Just because a kid is having fun playing a game and having incredible success makes no sense.”

Acuna was scorching hot entering Wednesday's contest, hammering eight home runs in as many games, including three leadoff dingers to start each of the three previous contests versus the Marlins.
Urena was tossed for his actions, while Acuna was pulled from the game to undergo X-rays, which came back negative.
