Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said Tuesday that wide receiver Doug Baldwin should be ready to go for the regular-season opener against the Denver Broncos, barring a setback according to ESPN's Brady Henderson.

Baldwin is reportedly set to miss the entire preseason with a knee injury.

However, Carroll was less optimistic about the status of defensive end Dion Jordan, who's set to start alongside Frank Clark but is currently on the physically unable to perform list with a stress issue in his leg.

Following the free-agent departures of Jimmy Graham and Paul Richardson this offseason, Baldwin is expected to carry an even greater workload as the top option in the passing game. Wideouts Tyler Lockett and 34-year-old Brandon Marshall would likely start if Baldwin is forced to miss time.

Baldwin has led Seattle in catches in each of the last four seasons while developing a strong bond with quarterback Russell Wilson.
