Although Mike D'Antoni quit his head coaching job with the New York Knicks due to an ultimatum issued to the franchise by Carmelo Anthony, the animosity between the two may now be water under the bridge.

Anthony has met with the Houston Rockets to discuss a potential fit after he is eventually bought out or traded from the Oklahoma City Thunder; D'Antoni made it clear that he thinks things will be different should the 34-year-old join the Rockets, league sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

D'Antoni went as far as to welcome the idea of coaching Anthony once again, Wojnarowski added.

While there would obviously be skepticism with the pair working together in Houston, Chris Paul's endorsement of his banana boat buddy could ease the tension when it comes to the potential partnership.

Coming off the worst season of his career after averaging just 16.2 points per game as the third fiddle with the Thunder, a chance to join one of the league's few legitimate title contenders could be exactly what Anthony is looking for to reinvigorate himself.
