Texas Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre is pushing 40 and wants to play beyond 2018. He's apparently not looking for a change of scenery, either.

A free agent at season's end, Beltre has told the Rangers that while he's open to being traded to certain teams, he ultimately wants to play for Texas in 2019, according to Jon Heyman of Fancred Sports.

Beltre has recently emerged as a possible trade target for the Philadelphia Phillies who need help in the infield with J.P. Crawford injured and Maikel Franco struggling to perform.

It's unknown whether Philadelphia is among the teams Beltre would consider. He has full no-trade protection, so there's a chance he stays put.

Father time hasn't really caught up to the veteran who only seems to get better with age. He's batting .313/.376/.451 with four home runs and 26 RBIs through 210 plate appearances this season.
