Los Angeles Angels right-hander Shohei Ohtani exited Wednesday's start against the Kansas City Royals at the beginning of the fifth inning after suffering a blister on his right middle finger.

Ohtani warmed up on the mound to begin the inning but was visited by a member of the training staff and walked back to the clubhouse. He had allowed one run in four innings on 63 pitches.

The blister is in the same spot as one that Ohtani dealt with earlier in the season. He was removed from that start against the Red Sox in mid-April after the third inning. He was, however, able to make his next start and didn't disrupt him from hitting.
