Saban describes NCAA headset rule as mouse manure amid elephant dung

It's time for SEC spring meetings for coaches, which means the national media gets to enjoy Nick Saban at the podium taking questions.

The Alabama coach was at his best Tuesday, dropping an off-the-wall retort, albeit in his usual stoic form, when asked about the new NCAA rule limiting football staff to 20 headsets during a game.

"I don't know who is driving all this stuff, but to me, it's kind of like mouse manure when you're up to your ears in elephant doo-doo," Saban said, as per Mike Griffith of SEC Country.

As Saban appears to be suggesting, many would say the NCAA has bigger problems on its hands than the number of headsets a coaching staff is using on the sidelines.

Saban has used the fecal comparison before, and it's certainly an evocative analogy.
