Major League Baseball announced Monday that Toronto Blue Jays closer Roberto Osuna, who was arrested earlier this month and has been accused of assaulting a woman, will remain on administrative leave until May 28.

Osuna, who is scheduled to appear in court next month, was initially placed on a seven-day administrative leave May 8 following his arrest. He is currently being investigated by MLB, and will continue to be paid while he's on leave.

Per the league's domestic violence policy, commissioner Rob Manfred can suspend Osuna with or without pay pending the resolution of legal proceedings. So far, four players - Jose Reyes, Aroldis Chapman, Jeurys Familia, and Hector Olivera - have been disciplined under the new policy, which carries no maximum penalty.

Osuna, as part of the conditions of his release from custody, has been ordered not to communicate with the woman he's accused of assaulting, and must remain 100 meters away from a building in Toronto's west end, according to a court document.
