Report: Kiki VanDeWeghe among several candidates for Pistons' president job
The Detroit Pistons are showing interest in NBA executive Kiki VanDeWeghe, the Grizzlies' Ed Stefanski, the Rockets' Gersson Rosas, and the Nets' Trajan Langdon to replace Stan Van Gundy as president of basketball operations, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Pistons general manager Jeff Bower may also be promoted to a higher position within the front office, according to Wojnarowski. Whether that's for the president position is unclear.
The Miami Heat's Shane Battier and TNT analyst Brent Barry are among candidates for front-office roles in Detroit as well, according to Wojnarowski.
The Pistons relieved Van Gundy of his duties as president of basketball operations and head coach on May 7.
Detroit has reached the postseason just once since 2009 and isn't expected to be a major player in free agency, with little to no cap space projected over the next two seasons.
