Machida destroys Belfort with devastating head kick KO

Lyoto Machida showed power many didn't realize he still had, as the 39-year-old Brazilian destroyed countryman Vitor Belfort on Saturday night with a crushing front kick to the chin in the second round at UFC 224.

Belfort, who had entered the night claiming this would be his last fight, confirmed he's calling it a career after the loss, leaving his gloves in the Octagon.

After securing his first knockout win since 2013, Machida called out veteran middleweight Michael Bisping, who has recently said he's looking for one more big matchup before retiring himself.

The fight was rather uneventful in the opening round, as both combatants felt each other out before Machida took just 60 seconds to end the bout in the second stanza. Machida has now won his last two fights after going on a three-fight losing streak. The former light heavyweight champion said earlier this week that he hopes to make one more run at a UFC title.
