The man who got his wish of meeting Tiger Woods at the Masters earlier this month has succumbed to cancer.

Shane Caldwell, who was battling Stage 4 lung cancer after surviving two bouts of colon cancer, got the opportunity to meet Woods following a social media campaign by his stepdaughter, Jordan Miller. Woods shook Caldwell's hand and gave him a signed glove that read, "Stay strong!! Tiger Woods."

Doctors informed Caldwell and his family two weeks ago that the cancer had become too aggressive to fight, according to Susan Ardis of The State. Rather than endure more radiation, Caldwell decided to stop treatment.

Miller told Ardis that her stepfather continued to show off the glove Woods gave him right up until the end.

"It gave him hope to see the love that was shown to him," she said.
