Sorry, pal. Not today.
Contrary to the promise emblazoned on a fan's shirt, Minnesota Twins second baseman Brian Dozier extended his hitting streak Monday night at Yankee Stadium with a fifth-inning single off Masahiro Tanaka. He has now hit safely in 24 consecutive games, much to the chagrin of the aforementioned fan.
Dozier, who carried a .310 batting average into Monday's series opener, last went hitless on Sept. 18, 2017.
