A blockbuster heavyweight battle has officially been added to an already stacked UFC 226 card - Francis Ngannou and Derrick Lewis will meet in the Octagon on July 7 in Las Vegas, the promotion announced Saturday night.

The bout had reportedly been close to being finalized on Friday.

Ngannou (11-2) is coming off a unanimous decision loss in a championship fight against Stipe Miocic in January, his first UFC loss. Lewis (19-5) most recently defeated Marcin Tybura by third-round TKO in February. The two fighters have a combined 15 wins by finish over 20 bouts in the UFC.

The card will be headlined by a champion vs. champion bout between Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier for the heavyweight title. Featherweight champ Max Holloway is also scheduled to defend his strap against Brian Ortega on the card, which will go down during International Fight Week.
