An island-wide power outage in Puerto Rico won't stop the Cleveland Indians and Minnesota Twins from playing the final game of their mini-series at Hiram Bithorn Stadium on Wednesday, says San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz.

The power outage - a regular occurrence in Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria - is expected to last 24-36 hours, according to the island's power authority, but Cruz said the stadium's emergency systems are fully functional, confirming Wednesday morning on Twitter that the game will be played. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. ET.

A spokesperson from Major League Baseball added that the commissioner's office is "confident tonight’s game will be played without issue," per Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

On Tuesday, in the first MLB regular-season game on the island since 2010, Francisco Lindor - a native of Caguas, roughly 20 miles outside San Juan - powered the Indians to a 6-1 victory and stole the show with an unforgettable two-run homer to right field in the top of the fifth inning.

"That's a moment he'll never forget," Indians catcher Yan Gomes told MLB.com's Jordan Bastian. "It's one thing coming out here and getting a couple hits, but he got the biggest hit of the day and gave us the lead. Getting a curtain call like that was pretty cool for him, I'm sure."
