Ex-Michigan player tweets series of threats, tags Jim Harbaugh

Ex-Michigan linebacker Elysee Mbem-Bosse sent a series of since-deleted threatening tweets between Saturday and Monday, including one in which he tagged head coach Jim Harbaugh.

The tweets were saved and shared on Reddit's r/CFB community. After initial confusion over his status with the program, Michigan clarified in a statement obtained by the Detroit News' Angelique Chengelis that Mbem-Bosse left the team in mid-November.

The University of Michigan Police Department opened an investigation Monday into the social media threats, deputy chief and department spokeswoman Melissa Overton confirmed to MLive's Aaron McMann on Tuesday.
