Condit following loss to Oliveira: 'I don't know what's next'

It appears Carlos Condit is going on another indefinite hiatus.

The ex-UFC interim welterweight champ took to Instagram on Tuesday to state Saturday's loss to Alex Oliveira at UFC on FOX 29 has relegated him back to limbo. Condit openly wondered whether his best days in four-ounce gloves were behind him, but wouldn't outright close the door on a potential return to the cage.

"I don't know what's next guys ... I still love this game, and most days I still feel that fire, I absolutely love what (I) do, but maybe my time has passed," Condit wrote. "I don't know the answer. This is what I know, this is my passion. I will never stop training, and if that leads me back to the the Octagon, you know I'll try to make it bloody for (you)."

The development marks the second time Condit has taken a step back from competition in under two years. The fan favorite's first self-imposed exile began immediately following a first-round submission courtesy of Demian Maia in August 2016, and ended in a unanimous decision loss to Neil Magny 16 months later at UFC 219.

The second-round tapout he suffered at Oliveira's hands over the weekend extended his losing skid to four fights. Condit has dropped seven of his past nine and hasn't gotten his hand raised since scoring a second-round TKO of Thiago Alves three years ago.
