CC Sabathia left Friday's game against the Baltimore Orioles after four innings and underwent an MRI due to hip tightness. However, the results came back clean and the New York Yankees left-hander said he's hopeful to make his next scheduled start, according to Coley Harvey of ESPN.

"It was sore and I never felt that spot before, ever, throwing a baseball," Sabathia told Bryan Hoch of MLB.com following the 14-inning marathon against the division rival. "It was a little nerve-racking, but to have the MRI come back clean is a good thing."

Tommy Kahnle relieved Sabathia to begin the fifth inning after the 37-year-old allowed three earned runs on four hits over four frames.

In nine innings of work this year, Sabathia owns a 4.00 ERA with a pair of no-decisions.

It was a night to forget for the Yankees, who also lost Brandon Drury, Tyler Wade, and Gary Sanchez to injuries in a contest they wound up losing 7-3 after the 14 innings.
