Conor McGregor has been charged with three counts of misdemeanor assault and one count of felony criminal mischief for his role in an incident at the Barclays Center on Thursday, according to ESPN.

McGregor surrendered to police Thursday after the lightweight champion appeared to attack a bus full of UFC fighters and employees, shattering a window and causing injuries to those on board.

"Mr. McGregor is in the custody of the New York Police Department," a police statement read, via Mark La Monica of Newsday.

The antics left two fighters unable to compete Saturday night in Brooklyn, N.Y., the site of UFC 223. The promotion canceled those fights, along with a third bout involving Artem Lobov, who is said to have participated in the fracas.

Fellow fighter Cian Cowley was also charged with assault and criminal mischief.

UFC president Dana White called the Irishman's actions "despicable." The promotion also promised consequences for McGregor, who hasn't appeared inside the cage in more than a year.
