Stidham won't play in Auburn spring game as shoulder recovery continues

Auburn quarterback Jarrett Stidham will sit out Saturday's spring game as he continues to recover from offseason shoulder surgery, head coach Gus Malzahn told Josh Vitale of Auburn Undercover.

Stidham has been limited to footwork drills and very light throwing throughout spring practice. He led the SEC with a 66.5 completion percentage last year, and threw for 3,158 yards with 18 touchdowns and six interceptions in his first campaign with the Tigers.

The shoulder injury isn't expected to threaten Stidham's status for the beginning of the regular season.

With the star junior sidelined, sophomore Malik Willis will likely quarterback the first-team offense when Auburn scrimmages at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
