Ohio State appears to be happy with head coach Urban Meyer's first six seasons leading the program.

The Buckeyes announced an agreement with Meyer on a two-year contract extension through 2022 on Thursday. The agreement was approved by a committee of the board of trustees Thursday, but a vote from the full board will take place Friday.

"I want to thank President Michael V. Drake for his guidance and the Board of Trustees for its work in considering this extension," Senior Vice President and Wolfe Foundation Endowed Athletics Director Gene Smith said, according to the school's release. "I think everyone will agree that we have one of the finest coaches and mentors in Urban Meyer leading our football program."

Meyer has led Ohio State to a record of 73-8 since taking over in 2012. The school ranks second in the nation in wins, behind only Alabama, and they're tied with Alabama for the fewest losses in that time with eight. He won the inaugural College Football Playoff national championship in 2014 - the eighth national title in school history.

The expected deal will see Meyer receiver a raise of $1.2 million, according to Barrett Sallee of CBS Sports. He'll earn $7.6 million in 2018, ranking as the third-highest paid coach in college football.
