Kylian Mbappe has rubbished the idea of Neymar leaving Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, telling Telefoot, as quoted by ESPN FC, that reports of an exit to teams such as Real Madrid or a return to Barcelona are "just hot air."

The 26-year-old, who joined PSG for a world-record €222 million, is currently sidelined and in recovery after undergoing surgery on a broken foot, one that cast fears on his participation with Brazil at the 2018 World Cup this summer.

Though he has been linked with a move away from the Stade des Princes after less than one full season at his new club, fellow newcomer Mbappe believes Neymar will be back at PSG and fighting fit next season.

"He sends me messages regularly to encourage me on the pitch," Mbappe said. "I sent him a message to get well soon, get playing again and then have a good World Cup - but not to win it.

"Regarding his future, there is no question of that. It was just destabilisation, and as it was a big thing, the media had to keep it going, but it's just hot air."

Neymar has made 30 appearances in all competitions for PSG this season, scoring 28 times and recording 16 assists. He signed a five-year contract with the Parisian outfit, after triggering the release clause on his Barcelona contract.
