It was a scary scene late in the third quarter of Saturday's game between the Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors at the Golden 1 Center.

Warriors guard Patrick McCaw went up for a dunk attempt with roughly 42 seconds to go in the period but was inadvertently undercut by Kings veteran Vince Carter.

Unable to control his landing, McCaw went down awkwardly on the court, rolling around and writhing in agony while holding his lower back.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr could be seen yelling at Carter - who was assessed a flagrant-1 foul - from the sidelines, mouthing the words "he should know better."

He then approached Carter and placed his hand on his back to comfort him, as Carter was visibly distraught by what had happened.

McCaw was down for several minutes as players from the Warriors and Kings circled him. He was eventually stretchered off.

McCaw was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation. The Warriors announced that chest X-rays and a CT scan both came back clear, adding that the 22-year-old will undergo an MRI at a time that is yet to be determined.

Golden State went on to win the game by 16 points, 112-96.
