Following a 3-15 start to their 2018 campaign, the Cincinnati Reds shook up their clubhouse Thursday, replacing manager Bryan Price and pitching coach Mack Jenkins, the team announced.

Jim Riggleman will take over as interim manager, and a thorough search for a permanent replacement will be conducted later in the year, the club added.

"At this time, we felt a change needed to happen in order to begin the process of getting this team back on the right track. We realize it is early in the season but feel it is important to be proactive," general manager Dick Williams said, according to the Reds' official website. "In addition to these staff changes, we will continue to examine all aspects of baseball operations to ensure we are doing everything we can to improve."

Hired ahead of the 2014 season to usher the Reds through a rebuilding phase, Price stewarded the club to a fourth-place finish (76-86) in the National League Central in his first year with the team, and then watched it finish in last place in the division in each of the past three seasons. This year, following another quiet offseason, the Reds - who own the majors' worst winning percentage (.167) - are off to their ugliest start since 1931, when they dropped 16 of their first 18 contests.

Cumulatively, in four-plus years as manager, Price guided the Reds to a 279-387 (.419) record.
