Michigan State freshman Jaren Jackson Jr. announced his intention on Monday to enter June's NBA draft.

"Spartans, this was not an automatic decision," Jackson wrote. "And honestly, thank you for making it one of the toughest decisions I've ever had to think about."

Jackson, a 6-foot-11, 240-pound power forward-center, is projected as a top-five pick in June. He arrived at Michigan State as a top-10 national recruit and averaged 10.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, and three blocks in 35 games.

The 18-year-old is the son of former NBA player Jaren Jackson.
