Report: Holland's price tag keeping teams from signing him

Free agent Greg Holland doesn't appear willing to settle despite still being on the market with five days to go until Opening Day.

The right-hander entered the winter as the top reliever available but has yet to sign a deal because teams reportedly aren't willing to meet his price tag, according to Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe.

Coming off Tommy John surgery, Holland signed a one-year, $6-million deal with the Colorado Rockies prior to last season. He pitched his way to an All-Star appearance, posting a 3.61 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, and 70 strikeouts over 57 1/3 innings while converting a National League-leading 41 saves.

Holland opted to decline his $15-million player option and a $17.4-million qualifying offer in November in hopes of landing a lucrative multi-year deal. Because he declined the qualifying offer, any team that signs him will be forced to surrender a pick in this summer's draft.

The Atlanta Braves, St. Louis Cardinals, and Arizona Diamondbacks are among the teams that have reportedly expressed interest at different points this winter, though no team is believed to be close to making an offer.
