Rory McIlroy's showing at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play is over, as the Northern Irishman fell 5-and-3 to Brian Harman on Friday afternoon.
After dropping his opening match to Peter Uihlein on Wednesday, McIlroy needed a win over Harman to have a chance to play through the weekend, but got behind the eight ball early, dropping two holes through the first five.
McIlroy, coming off a huge win last week at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, was the sixth-ranked golfer in the field.
