Kentucky entered Thursday's contest against Kansas State as a sizable favorite to move on to the Elite Eight. The Wildcats from Kansas had other plans, bouncing the 5-seed from the tournament in a tight 61-58 victory.

Head coach John Calipari opened up about the crushing loss Friday, and also expressed how proud he was of his team's accomplishments.

"I woke up this morning feeling as sick as I did last night after that game. This is going to hurt for a while for all of us. The players took it as hard as any team I've had when it ends," Calipari tweeted Friday.

He added: "What they accomplished this year can never be taken away. To play like they played all year - coming together, battling through adversity, continuing to work every day, and representing all of us the way they did - is truly amazing."

Calipari has been at the helm for the Wildcats since moving from Memphis in 2009. He's registered a sensational overall record of 275-64 and has taken Kentucky to the Big Dance in all but one of his seasons there.
