Blue Jays' Stroman deems himself healthy for opening series

Marcus Stroman won't start Opening Day for the Toronto Blue Jays but the right-hander believes he'll make an appearance in the club's first series of the season.

Stroman, who had been backed off this spring after dealing with shoulder inflammation, made his spring debut Saturday against the Canadian National Junior Team, tossing two shutout innings.

"I thought it went really well," Stroman said, according to The Associated Press. "My changeup was great, sinker was good, slider will come along the next couple starts.

"I'll be out there the fourth game of the series and I’ll be ready to rock. I can’t wait."

The Blue Jays open the season March 29 with a four-game set against the New York Yankees. It's likely that some combination of J.A. Happ, Marco Estrada, and Aaron Sanchez will start the first three games with Stroman making his season debut in the finale.
