Phoenix Suns forwards Marquese Chriss and Jared Dudley have been fined $25,000 apiece for decking point guard Ricky Rubio during Thursday night's loss to the Utah Jazz, the NBA announced Saturday.

The incident occurred in the third quarter of Utah's 28-point win, after Chriss air-balled a dunk attempt. Chriss and Dudley were both ejected.

It's unclear if the fines will be a stiff enough punishment to assuage Jazz general manager Dennis Lindsey, who suggested Friday that the league wasn't doing enough to protect its players from these kinds of cheap shots.

Rubio was on the receiving end of a similarly dirty play just two weeks earlier, when Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Jeff Teague body-checked him into the Wolves' bench. Teague was ejected for the play, but was not fined.
