A broad exodus of players was expected after coach Kevin Stallings was shown the door at Pitt.

Now the floodgates have opened.

Seven more players have requested their release from the program, multiple sources close to the team told ESPN's Jeff Goodman, joining promising freshman Parker Stewart, who reportedly asked out earlier in the week.

The players are expected to receive Pitt's permission to explore transfer options, Goodman reports, but they'll be unable to play for another program in the ACC or a team on the Panthers' 2018-19 schedule, as per school policy.

Luther is expected to receive another year of eligibility after missing all but 10 games this season due to injury.

Carr and Brown were three-star talents for Pitt's 2017 recruiting class.

It's unclear if the roster shake-up could alter the path of incoming four-star power forward Bryce Golden, who signed his letter of intent last November, well before Stallings' dismissal from the program.
