Harry Kane should be fit for England's World Cup campaign.

Tottenham Hotspur revealed Wednesday that its marksman damaged lateral ligaments in his right ankle during Sunday's 4-1 win over Bournemouth, but expects him to rejoin first-team training in April.

Although the exact date of his anticipated return is vague, an absence of exactly one month would see him definitely miss an FA Cup quarter-final tie at Swansea City, England's friendlies against the Netherlands and Italy, and Premier League meetings with Chelsea and Stoke City. Kane faces a race against time to be included in a visit from Manchester City on April 14.

The 24-year-old will be relieved that he is still able to appear in his first World Cup, but winning a third consecutive Premier League Golden Boot will be tough. Kane has scored 24 times in 29 outings, which puts him on par with Liverpool's Mohamed Salah. Sergio Aguero is only three strikes behind, but is also currently sidelined with a knee issue.

Fernando Llorente is able to step into the void left by Kane's injury, but when the latter was forced off 34 minutes into the weekend's tie at Bournemouth, Mauricio Pochettino instead thrust Heung-Min Son into the lone striker role, and introduced Erik Lamela from the bench.
