D-Backs' Walker feeds teammates, fans with his homemade tacos

These are the only oppo tacos that Taijuan Walker enjoys serving.

The Arizona Diamondbacks right-hander took a break from the monotony of spring training to bring some home cooking to camp. Walker, who enjoys the kitchen in his spare time, brought a custom taco truck to the D-Backs' complex where he served up some of his homemade bison tacos to teammates and fans alike on Monday afternoon.

Walker's bison tacos used a family recipe from his mother, Nellie Garcia, and the pitcher then added some of his own flavor in the form of (a lot of) spice and heat.

"My mouth is on fire, bro," Diamondbacks reliever Archie Bradley said after gulping one down, according to Katherine Fitzgerald of AZCentral.com.

The heat only made Walker's tacos better, apparently, as his Diamondbacks teammates couldn't stop raving about his cooking in between mouthfuls.

Players weren't the only ones enjoying it, as hordes of fans lined up at the truck to score some free tacos. The promotion even managed to bring rivals together, as fans of both the D-Backs and Colorado Rockies - who share the Salt River Fields complex - chowed down with Walker.

The 25-year-old Walker, who's about to start his second season in Arizona, was more than happy to do it.

"This is what spring training is about - interacting with the fans - and it's their chance to get up close," Walker said. "Doing something like this is just fun."
