Watch: Vitor Hugo salutes Astori, shares warm embrace after scoring header

The man who replaced Davide Astori in Fiorentina's lineup against Benevento scored the winner on Sunday amid emotional scenes at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

Wearing No. 31, the inverse of Astori's customary No. 13, Vitor Hugo towered over Benevento's defence to head home the game's only goal.

The 26-year-old Brazilian held up a shirt with a picture of Astori before offering a soldier's salute.

Just a few minutes earlier, both teams stopped play to applaud the memory of the late Italian defender, who died of cardiac arrest last Sunday in his sleep.
