Jordan Whittington, the nation's top-ranked athlete in the 2019 recruiting class, announced his commitment Saturday to Texas.
Whittington, a native of Cuero, Texas, chose the Longhorns over Texas A&M, UCLA, and Florida, according to Gerry Hamilton of ESPN. He adds to the momentum Texas established on the recruiting trail at the end of the 2018 cycle, where it finished with the third-ranked class.
Whittington is ranked 10th overall on the ESPN 300. He's expected to play safety or wide receiver in college.
