Pitt has discussed its vacant coaching job with Arizona's Sean Miller, who has interest in returning to the school he played at more than two decades ago, multiple sources told Craig Meyer of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

The news comes on the heels of a Tuesday report that Pitt had extended a lucrative offer to Rhode Island's Dan Hurley, who's expected to choose between the Panthers and UConn shortly.

Miller, who played point guard at Pitt from 1987-92 and was an assistant coach with the program from 1995-96, is coming off a roller coaster season at Arizona.

Though he won the Pac-12 for a third consecutive campaign, Miller's name has been tied to the ongoing FBI investigation into corruption in college basketball. A longtime assistant of his was arrested in September on bribery and fraud charges, and ESPN reported in February that Miller was caught by the FBI discussing a $100,000 payment to star center DeAndre Ayton during his recruitment.

The Wildcats have been one of the country's most successful regular-season teams during Miller's tenure, but they've yet to experience glory in the NCAA tournament. They lost in the first round of this year's event, falling in a stunning blowout to Buffalo.

Miller owns a 367-120 career coaching record, split between stints at Arizona or Xavier. He's never reached a Final Four.

Whoever Pitt hires will need to fill out a roster set to lose nine players to transfers and another four to graduation.
