Report: Taisumov out of UFC 223 bout vs. Dunham due to visa issues

Mairbek Taisumov's visa issues strike again.

Due to a delay in obtaining an American visa, the 29-year-old Russian has withdrawn from his lightweight bout opposite Evan Dunham at UFC 223 on April 7 at Brooklyn's Barclays Center, sources told MMA Fighting's Peter Carroll on Friday.

The UFC has not formally announced Taisumov's withdrawal.

Taisumov competed in the United States under the M-1 banner back in 2011, but has seen two UFC bookings fall through due to visa issues over his four-year promotional stint. The Chechen last took the Octagon in the Netherlands at UFC Fight Night 115 in September, extending his knockout streak to five with an 84-second trouncing of Felipe Silva.
