The Cleveland Cavaliers have suspended shooting guard J.R. Smith one game for conduct detrimental to the team.

Smith will serve the suspension during Thursday night's game against the Philadelphia 76ers. He'll be replaced in the starting lineup by Rodney Hood.

It's unclear what he did to earn the team-issued punishment, and the announcement, which came just two hours before Thursday's tipoff, offered no further insight into the matter.

Cavs coach Tyronn Lue told reporters only that "something happened after shootaround," according to ESPN's Dave McMenamin.

Smith looked to be turning his season around in February, and particularly in the immediate aftermath of the trade deadline, which saw him stay put while the Cavs shipped out six players. The past three games, though, have seen him revert to his early-season form, as he's shot 4-of-22 from the field and 1-of-13 from 3-point range.

For the season, the 32-year-old is averaging 8.3 points, three rebounds, and 1.9 assists while shooting 39.2 percent from the field and 36.3 percent from deep.
