Report: WWE changes Apollo Crews' name to distance him from Parkland shooter

Apollo Crews is the latest WWE star to undergo a name change.

As his bio on WWE.com shows, Crews (real name Sesugh Uhaa) will now be known simply as Apollo. Vince McMahon made the decision to drop Apollo's last name to avoid association with Nikolas Cruz, the suspect in last week's mass shooting that left 17 people dead at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., according to Daniel Wood of Sportskeeda.

WWE opened Monday night's episode of "Raw" with a moment of silence for the victims in the shooting.
