Two of Canada's best chances to medal in freestyle skiing at PyeongChang 2018 had utterly disappointing performances in the women's ski slopestyle qualifications, resulting in both missing the final.

Dara Howell, who won gold in the event in Sochi 2014, and Kim LaMarre, a bronze medalist in 2014, fell on their qualification runs, finishing the round in 21st and 22nd place, respectively, out of the 23-skier field.

The sole Canadian to advance to the final was Yuki Tsubota, who finished the qualifications in ninth position with a score of 78.20.

Tsubota finished with the sixth-best score in the final as Switzerland's Sarah Hoefflin and Mathilde Gremaud won gold and silver, respectively, with Isabel Atkin of Great Britain taking bronze.
