Police say DeAndre' Bembry was arrested early Friday for racing on I-85 North, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Lauren Foreman.

The Atlanta Hawks small forward was "traveling at a high rate of speed south of Buford Highway" in a purple Dodge Charger, as was another vehicle, Officer Donald Hannah said, adding that the two vehicles appeared to be racing as they drove close to 150 mph in a 55-mph speed limit zone.

Bembry, 23, was arrested on charges of reckless driving and speeding, and later released on a cash bond.

The Hawks announced they were gathering information on the matter and ruled out Bembry for Friday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The sophomore wing is averaging 4.8 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.4 assists over 18 games. He's been nursing a groin injury and last suited up on Dec. 22.
