Diaz 'sick of not fighting,' sees Woodley as 'best option'
Tyron Woodley and Nate Diaz appear headed for a head-to-head clash.
Woodley, the UFC's defending welterweight champion, has stated he believes Diaz will be his next opponent. Diaz apparently shares that belief.
Speaking to ESPN's Brett Okamoto, Diaz said he's hoping to end an extended break away from the Octagon and envisions a showdown with Woodley.
"I'm getting to the point where I'm sick of not fighting. I'm not getting any younger." Diaz said. "I put that tweet out saying I wanted to fight in May or June, but I didn't say who because I was weighing my options. And now, Woodley is my best option."
Diaz hasn't fought since his rematch with Conor McGregor at UFC 202 in August 2016. If it were up to him, he'd make his return at UFC 226 on July 7.
As a lightweight, he'd have to move up a weight class to challenge for Woodley's belt.
