The details of Gus Malzahn's new contract have been released, and it's safe to say the Auburn head coach will be financially comfortable over the next few years.

The university's athletic department released the revised contract Tuesday, and Malzahn is set to earn an average of $7 million annually through the 2024 season, according to Justin Ferguson of SEC Country.

The contract was officially signed Jan. 26, according to Ferguson, after being reportedly agreed upon Dec. 3.

Malzahn's base salary sits at $500,000. Personal endorsement rights and radio, internet, and television rights, plus program and personal appearances raise his first-year total to $6.7 million. Both areas will be raised by $50,000 annually, meaning Malzahn's salary will increase to $7.3 million by the time the 2024 season comes along.

The 52-year-old is coming off his fifth season at Auburn, and has guided the Tigers to a 45-22 overall record, a 25-15 conference record, and a national championship appearance in 2013.
