Buddy Hield to replace Donovan Mitchell in Skills Challenge
Sacramento Kings guard Buddy Hield will have a shot to showcase his skills during All-Star Saturday Night.
Hield will be replacing Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell in the Skills Challenge after Mitchell was officially removed from the event to instead compete in the Slam Dunk contest later in the evening, the Kings announced.
Hield will also be playing in the Rising Stars Challenge the night before, representing the Bahamas on Team World alongside Sacramento teammate Bogdan Bogdanovic. They will be the only Kings participating during All-Star weekend.
The 24-year-old Hield is in his second NBA season - his first full campaign with the Kings - and is averaging 12.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. He's also tied for ninth in the league in 3-point percentage (43.2 percent).
