Morales gets newcomer Manny Bermudez at UFC Orlando
Albert Morales has been tasked with welcoming yet another prospect to the Octagon.
The 26-year-old will lock horns with the undefeated Manny Bermudez in a bantamweight bout at UFC on FOX 28 on Feb. 24 at Amway Center in Orlando, the promotion announced Monday.
Morales has gotten his hand raised just once in a handful of walks to the Octagon, and meets Bermudez on a two-fight skid. The California native kicked off his 2017 with a split verdict over Andre Soukhamthath at UFC 209, only to fall to Brett Johns in July and drop a closely contested decision to highly touted newcomer Benito Lopez at UFC Fight Night 123 in December.
Massachusetts' Bermudez boasts a perfect pro record of 11-0, with nine of those victories coming within one round. The newcomer was last seen submitting Seth Basler in 66 seconds at Cage Titans 37 just nine days ago.
UFC on FOX 28 features a featherweight clash between Josh Emmett and Jeremy Stephens in the main event.
