Larry Nassar's final sentencing hearing Monday resulted in the disgraced sports doctor receiving a third prison term of 40-125 years for molesting young female athletes.

It was the culmination of a dramatic week in which dozens of victims and family members addressed Nassar, who sexually abused young girls for more than two decades, in a Michigan court. In one instance, a father of three victims attempted to attack the 54-year-old after his request for a personal meeting with Nassar was denied by Judge Janice Cunningham.

Two days of victim impact statements last week was followed by Monday's sentencing hearing, as Cunningham sentenced Nassar to an additional 40-125 years in prison. He was previously sentenced to 40-175 years last month for molesting girls in another county, and 60 years in prison at a federal court. He will most likely spend the rest of his life incarcerated.

"I am not convinced that you truly understand that what you did was wrong and the devastating impact you've had on the victims, family, and friends," Cunningham said to Nassar, who pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual conduct in Eaton County, Michigan, according to Eric Levenson of CNN.

The latest trial saw victims from a gymnastics club called Twistars, where Nassar, who was also employed by U.S.A Gymnastics and Michigan State, abused them under the guise of treating injuries.

Over 200 women claim to have been abused by Nassar over a period that dates back to the 1990s. A majority of victims, including Olympic gold medalist Aly Raisman, spoke or wrote statements addressing Nassar during his previous hearing in a different Michigan city in January.
