Report: Cavaliers shopping J.R. Smith
The Cavaliers are reportedly offering J.R. Smith to various teams ahead of Thursday's NBA trade deadline, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer's Terry Pluto.
Smith has been a significant culprit in the Cavs' struggles of late, shooting 31.8 percent from deep since the calendar flipped to 2018. Statistically, the 32-year-old is having one of his worst seasons, and opponents are six points per 100 possessions better when Smith is on the floor.

That reality, combined with his $14.7-million salary next season, means Smith won't fetch the Cavaliers much on his own, but he could be included in a bigger deal. Beyond that, his contract is only partially guaranteed for $3.87 million in 2019-20.
