Veteran forward Joe Johnson is attempting to get traded out of Utah, according Marc Stein of The New York Times. Stein also references Johnson as a potential buyout candidate if no deal is struck.

This should come as no surprise as Johnson is in the final year of his deal and having a down year for the Jazz, who are currently 3.5 games out of the playoff picture.

If bought out, the 36-year-old will have the opportunity to join a contender looking for perimeter help. Johnson is a career 37.2 percent 3-point shooter, but shooting just 26.7 percent this season.
