Arkansas will pay former HC Bielema almost $12M in buyout

Arkansas' decision to fire Bret Bielema after last season is going to be an expensive one, as the school will pay the former head coach $11.935 million in his buyout.

Based on the agreement from the Razorback Foundation obtained by Kyle Deckelbaum of KATV, the buyout will be broken down in monthly installments worth $322,567.57 through December 2020.

Should Bielema obtain another job, his new salary will be subtracted from the money owed by Arkansas. This provision will allow the veteran coach to have a number of options for his next stop.

Bielema posted a 29-34 record in five seasons with the Razorbacks.
