LSU is looking to bring back a very familiar face, as the university will reportedly name former Tigers running back Kevin Faulk the team's new director of player development, a source told Bruce Feldman of Sports Illustrated.

In order to make the hire official, LSU reportedly must work out details regarding an NCAA regulation that covers "individuals associated with a prospect." The rule prevents colleges from hiring high school coaches connected with a recruit for a period of two years before and after a player's enrollment at the college. Faulk has been coaching at his alma mater of Carencro High School in Louisiana.

Faulk holds a special place in LSU football history. The 41-year-old is still the program's all-time leading rusher, having accumulated 4,557 yards and 46 touchdowns from 1995-98. He was selected 46th overall in the 1999 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots, and spent his entire 13-year career with the franchise.
